Procedures you need to take in the event weather delays or postpones your Varsity Football or Varsity Basketball games.
1. If your game is postponed to another day, you are to first ask all of the officials if they can work the rescheduled date.
If they all can work, then you need to email Jan at email@example.com to notify her the date and time change so she can make those changes in Arbiter.
If one or more cannot work, you need to email Jan at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- Names of officials who can or cannot work
- Rescheduled Date
- Rescheduled Time
Reminder that when choosing a date/time to resume play, keep in mind that if we do not know what you need in terms of officials, you may not have all the officials that you need when you resume play.
2. If weather causes the game to be delayed on the same day here are a few reminders:
The School Administration is in charge of making any decisions on weather until the officials come out on the field to meet with the coaches.
Once the Officials come out to meet with the coaches, they assume the responsibility of making any weather-related calls.
For all sub varsity football and basketball games and any other varsity contests, you will contact your local booking official with the same information that you provide to our office.
Please refer to page 153 in the SCHSL Handbook for detailed instructions on cancelling or postponing contests.
